Thinking about your next goal? Need to plan your calendar year with fun waka ama events?
Te Waka Pounamu host two main regatta's each year:

The Whakaraupō Chase: an exciting challenge based long distance race, starting at Naval Point, and held in March;
-
The Pioke Pursuit: a unique pursuit styled sprint race, held in conjunction with Ngāti Wheke at Rāpaki every October.
We also support the paddling of the traditional Ngāi Tahu waka, Kōtukumairangi, at the Okains Bay Waitangi Day celebrations in February each year.
The club also participates and organises teams to participate in the following races:

Entries to all events are made by the club and are best arranged by your team captain (unless you are entering for an individual event). All paddlers must be registered with Waka Ama NZ. If you wish to enter an event or have other questions please contact tewakapounamu01@gmail.com
